I have over 10 years of experience working within education, with a strong focus on supporting children with SEN from Early Years through to secondary education. During this time, I have undertaken a variety of roles, starting as 1:1 support assistant then progressing to a teaching assistant in the ASC provision at Moss Valley Primary Academy. At this stage my passion for teaching grew to which I gained a degree in Early Childhood Studies, which strengthened my understanding of child development and inclusive practice.
Following this, I worked as an unqualified teacher and began my teacher training, before moving into a Family Support Worker role within Kings Academy trust, where I worked closely with pupils and families to provide targeted pastoral and practical support.
When Kings Academy Trust introduced the role of Travel Trainer Co-ordinator, I successfully secured the position. In this capacity, I can combine my experience in education and pastoral support to promote independence, confidence and essential life skills in our most vulnerable students. I am a strong advocate for equipping young people with the skills they need to navigate the world safely and independently and I am passionate about making a meaningful difference in their long-term outcomes.
